Tell me a little about your business and what's frustrating you. I read every email myself and always reply within an hour. I'm not selling software, and if I think I can't help you, I'll tell you that too.

One email is enough.

Send the messy version. A few sentences about your tools, your team, and what keeps slipping through the cracks is plenty. I'll look at it as a software person, not a vendor trying to move you into something new.

  1. 1.I read your email and always reply within an hour.
  2. 2.We pick a time to talk if it makes sense.
  3. 3.I ask blunt questions about your tools and your team, without steering you toward a product.
  4. 4.A day or two later I send you a short plan with a flat price. Or I tell you there's nothing to do yet.
